Methi Onion Pakoras

          


Methi Onion Pakora

Ingredients:-

Besan – 1 cup
Rice flour – 2 tbsp
Sugar – 2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp /  to taste
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Baking soda – a pinch
Cooked rice – 1/2 cup
Onions – 2 medium, finely chopped
Greenchilly – 2 no.s, chopped
Methi leaves / Cilantro – 1/2 cup, chopped
Oil – 3 tsp + to deep fry

Method:-

Mix together the gram flour, rice flour, baking soda, sugar, salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, lemon juice, chopped onions, greenchillies, methi leaves & the cooked rice.

Add very little water ( may be 1/8 cup) to bring all the ingredients together & mix well. Add 3 tsp of hot oil . Keep aside for 10 minutes. Take small portions of the mixture & deep fry in hot oil on medium heat till brown. Drain on kitchen towels.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup / coriander mint chutney.
